First and foremost, I’m sure you saw Redban tweet this:

He claims we ‘stole’ HIS IDEA, using girls with guns. Did he mention that he stole the photo to begin with???

It is used during the opening of all 3 podcasts that Jayden Cole and I did on the DEATHSQUAD network. Had I know at the time that this was a stolen image, I would have demanded a change. I don’t think she’s going to like this once she finds out.

ANYWAY… Back to the name SexSquad and the ‘who came up with it first’ situation. Jayden registered the SexSquad.tv domain (a domain used primarily in regards to video content) on 9/21/2011, obviously intending to use it for her podcast that was yet to be created.

The very first time SexSquad premiered on the DEATHSQUAD network was a little over three months later. See the date? 12/24/2011.

I’m sure it goes without saying that Redban’s ‘boobs & guns’ image is used in the beginning of this podcast, without permission.

When Jayden approached me about doing a podcast with her, she gave me her ideas and whatnot, and had told me about the name that she had already registered a domain for, obviously thinking our podcasts would be archived there. And I remember chatting with Redban about doing the sex based podcast as well. I told him that Jayden had informed me of the idea and the name, SexSquad. Now, I don’t have ‘proof’ of this one, but Redban asked me: “Do you really like that name, SexSquad?”, as if questioning the name all together. Obviously, it’s a play off DEATHSQUAD, so it made sense. Plus, it sounds pretty sexy! So we went with it.

Moving on. Redban and I spent a lot of time texting each other yesterday about this situation. Some mellow stuff, some crazy stuff, but just trying to get through to each other. Among those texts, there was this:

Okay, so you denied the fact that Jayden came up with the name to your listeners, but you admit in a text to me that she did, in fact, come up with the name, regardless of any association to DEATHSQUAD.

And, amongst more text conversations, Redban sent me this:

I get it. I’m not stupid. SexSQUAD, deathSQUAD… But, excuse me for pointing this out, ‘squad’ is a word that has been around for a lot longer than DEATHSQUAD.

squad  /skwäd/ noun: 1. A small group of people having a particular task.

But, in order to avoid any potential confusion with using the word ‘squad’, I made sure to go to iTunes, under their podcast section, and search ‘squad’ to see what came up…

I could see how there would be confusion. (*Insert sarcasm.) Doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of DEATHSQUAD going on there.

Like I said, I didn’t want to have to resort to posting something like this, but Redban went to Toad Hop to cry over the use of the name SexSquad and Toad Hop has now put a hold on the premiere of the show. I do not appreciate a grown man acting so childish (over something that he frankly had no interest in pursuing in the first place, or he would have called us) and causing this much drama amongst a team that I have started doing business with, including and outside of this podcast. It’s embarrassing. They’ve all seen this information and are well aware of what is going on.

So, thanks to the juvenile antics of Redban, Toad Hop is holding off on the podcast until the documents on the trademark of SexSquad (“the entertainment services, hosted by Jayden Jaymes & Jayden Cole, by the means of radio, television and internet…” etc.) come in. My team is working hard and, frankly, laughing at Redban’s pathetic attempts. Regardless of whether or not we decide to use our name for our podcast in the future, Redban sure as hell won’t be able to.

And, I’m sure that most of you DEATHSQUADers will come in and call this juvenile and defend Redban, say that I’m making this up, and whatever other nonsense you want to throw at me, but you can’t deny the facts that I have laid out for you. Enjoy.

Oh, and just for fun… Redban is so concerned over protecting his network and the name, but he hasn’t even trademarked it himself. Copyright? Nope, not that either. C’mon, people! You can’t claim the rights to something you don’t own. And artists don’t change their name every time they work with a new producer.

Oh, and… Fuck you, Brian.

I’ve debated addressing this situation for a few days because I don’t really want to start any kind of personal drama, but given the amount of annoying tweets that Jayden Cole and I have been getting from the DEATHSQUAD army, I feel that I need to say something.

Jayden Cole and I made a business decision to move our podcast SexSquad to the Toad Hop Network for a number of reasons. I’m not here to personally bash Redban or anyone involved with DEATHSQUAD so I’m not going to get into it, but I will share this: After every show, Redban told Jayden and I how much people disliked it. He said we got negative comments/reviews and they the listeners just weren’t into it.

After hearing something like that, what were we supposed to do? It was hard enough trying to juggle our schedules, on top of trying to get Redban to return a call or text about getting into the studio, so we just sort of backed off. Our last podcast was on Feb 2nd. It’s now March 25. If the producer of our show tells us how much everyone hates is, then doesn’t call us to work us into his busy schedule, do you really think we want to call and try to get in where we’re not wanted??? No one does. We have dignity… We walked away. No hard feelings, we just weren’t a great fit with DEATHSQUAD.

I was a guest on one of Toad Hop’s podcasts, and afterward I was introduced to one of the partners. We sat around and talked about all kinds of business and our lives and whatnot, and he said he might be interested in giving me a show. I said that we had tried it with DEATHSQUAD but apparently they didn’t like us. He listened to the old shows, LOVED THEM, and asked us to join the team. At this point, it had been over a month since we did a podcast with Redban or even heard from him, so we just assumed that he didn’t care about us or keeping the show, so we took the opportunity.

We juggled ideas for the name, but we all loved SexSquad. Yes, that’s the name we used with Redban, but it’s also the name that Jayden Cole came up with. (And Redban admitted this to me via text last night.) Redban wanted the name SexCast. Jayden came up with SexSquad. (Yes, it’s a play off of DEATHSQUAD, but it works for us regardless.) Jayden registered SexSquad.tv and has since been working on the trademark. SexSquad is the name that SHE came up with for OUR show that Redban produced… And said everyone hated. I love the name, Jayden loves the name, Toad Hop loves the name, so we went with it. It was not a personal vendetta.

We never meant to upset Redban or any of the DEATHSQUAD listeners. We figured Redban just didn’t care since he didn’t pay us any attention or try to work anything out for new shows. And if you’re a DEATHSQUAD listener who’s upset that we’re no longer apart of the network (a few of you have hit me up), we’re sorry… But Redban said you guys didn’t like us. Sounds like an issue you need to take up with him, not us.

Again, it was nothing personal. Business just wasn’t right and we moved on to a network that has us on a set schedule and seems to be very proud of us thus far. We never got that from DEATHSQUAD. And NO ONE wants to be anywhere where they feel they’re not wanted.

Those of you that keep up on my schedule, you know that I just got back from a week long NYC trip with Jayden Cole, Samantha Saint and Ivan. We shot A LOT of really cool content for our websites that’ll be edited and put up SOON. Until then, here’s some of Ivan’s video blogs documenting everything we were up to. (I was going to add a bunch of pictures, but my site is not allowing me to do that. Gotta call my tech guy. Sorry.) But… Enjoy!

Part 1 – The flight to NYC… Cab ride to the hotel - Ivan shot a little bit of fun footage while on the 5 hour flight to the city, then we filmed in the cab on the way to Samantha’s hotel room in Times Square, talking about what our plans were and everything that we had to do.

Part 2 – Hanging out in the hotel… Walking around the city - Some footage of us ladies getting ready to head out to our East coast PUBA Party, and Ivan roaming the city at 7am having not slept in days!

Part 3 – Hanging out in the hotel… Sirius Radio Shade45 appearance - Us ladies getting done up and heading to the Sirius radio station to be interviewed by DJ WhooKid. Check out radioplanet.tv at a later date for the interview.

Part 4 – Hanging out in Edgewater, Jersey… Shooting in SoHo - Jayden and I shooting content in Jersey & in NYC. Really cool stuff!

Part 5 – Arguing with the cab driver… Ivan smokes a blunt with us professionals! - Cabbies in NYC can be quite CRAZY… And we just happened to get one of ‘em! He gave me a flat rate to take us to Cliffside Park, then tried to take us to Jersey City, then got lost even though he had a GPS that he never used, then had the nerve to ask me for more money! Very entertaining!

I believe Ivan has a little more footage from the trip. If/When he posts it, I’ll make sure to add it to the list here.
